Koninginnedag 2007
  
For one day a year in Holland (30th April),
trading laws are relaxed, and everyone is entitled to hold their own market stall in their city, to celebrate the birthday of the Queen Mother. There is a definite festival atmosphere as buyers, sellers and entertainers take to the street. This year I joined the locals in their celebrations, and sold a few items made from materials aquired beforehand from the people themselves. Check the link for a full report on this unusual day!
Orpheus & Eurydike
In Slovenia, september 2006 a modern take on the classic opera was premiered. Its success meant that it will be performed again this year, and I have been asked by the co-ordinator to design and make a new dress for the singer to wear. Now living in Holland, I have been working to find and set up my own atelier. I was offered space in an industrial area of Nieuwegein, Utrecht. People have already been kindly donating old clothes and I have had help to build the workshop.
